There are so many elderly people in nursing homes in the United States, and it makes me so sad. Other cultures are disgraced if they are unable to take care of their elderly grandparents/parents. It seems like in the United States the attitude is “let’s take care of her until she becomes a burden”. This outlook is not only appalling but so ungrateful. They raised you and cared for you. They had patience when you spilled your soup and forgot what a word was so why do they not receive the same courtesy? Take care of your loved ones, they’ll be gone before you know it.
